Moscow Refinery is the leading oil refinery and the largest supplier of fuel and other petroleum products to the Moscow and regional markets. During its existence, the refinery processed more than 400 million tons of oil, fully satisfying the demand for fuel in the Moscow region and selling it for export.
Moscow refinery is located at the address: Moscow region, Luberetskiy district, Kapotnya settlement. The refinery provides jobs for more than 3000 specialists. Moscow Refinery: history
The construction of the refinery began in 1936. At that time it was created as a cracking plant. The first cracking unit was launched in 1938, at the same time the first tons of gasoline were produced. During the war the plant continued to work steadily, providing a defense complex with oil products.
In the postwar years, the Moscow Refinery in Kapotnya gradually upgrades the facilities, expanding the range of produced petroleum products.
In 1951 the plant begins reconstruction. It continued in three stages and was completed by 1965. During this time, additional specialized units (electro-desalinating, carbamide dewaxing, reforming of gasoline, sulfur production, etc.) were put into operation, and a number of processes were automated. During the reconstruction, the enterprise was renamed the “Moscow Oil Refinery”.
In subsequent years, the Moscow Refinery was upgraded, as a result of which it became the leader in the oil refining industry. In addition to the production of a wide range of petroleum products, the refinery near Moscow meets the requirements of environmental and industrial safety.
In 2011, Gazprom purchased the Moscow Refinery, becoming its main shareholder. In October of the same year, there was an official change of name to OAO Gazpromneft-Moscow Refinery.
Products
Today, successfully working, the Moscow Refinery produces the following products:
- Euro5 standard motor gasoline.
- Euro5 fuel for diesel engines.

- Polymeric raw materials for products made of polyvinylchloride.
- Gases liquefied for utility needs and manufacturing of plastic.
- Innovative building bitumen is the own development of the Moscow refinery.
